L'Oeuf de Main de Maître

The great chocolate masters and pastry chefs come together to present a unique exhibition. Come and admire L'œuf, de main de maître, an exhibition featuring real chocolate creations...

Yes, chocolate is a real work of art, and it's not just our stomachs that are telling us so! Pastry chef Frédéric Bau is proving it with his unusual exhibition.  Accompanied by over fifty artists and craftsmen, Frédéric Bau unveils L'œuf, de main de maître, a free exhibition showcasing works made entirely of chocolate.

Art and delicacies come together in this unique exhibition, where chocolate eggs are transformed into magnificent sculptures. These sweet treats, most often associated with Easter, seem very ordinary: you can find them everywhere, in all shapes and sizes, to suit all tastes.

But the fifty or so eggs in this exhibition have nothing to do with the sweet treats of our childhood. These eggs are true works of art, crafted, sculpted and embellished by masters with unique skills.

A symbol of creation, rebirth and life, the egg has inspired 43 pastry and chocolate chefs and a dozen contemporary artists. Among the participants are Pierre Hermé, Nina Métayer, Quentin Lechat, Maxence Barbot, Pierre Marcolini, Matthieu Carlin, Mélanie Lhéritier, Christine Lambert, Jean-Bernard Lassara, Bruno Catalano...

Chocolate creations mingle with photographs, sculptures, paintings and ceramics in this atypical exhibition. It's a truly surprising artistic event. But that's not all: in a spirit of reducing waste and wastage, all these works have been created using recycled chocolate, produced by reusing manufacturing waste.

So don't worry: no chocolate has been wasted in the making of this exhibition!
